If your Commander is inactive for a while and you don't have any Officers to act in his place, the game will promote a member to an Officer, which has most of the same abilities as the Commander. Please note that it is our policy not to interfere in Alliance affairs in order to maintain the integrity of the system and cannot manually demote a Commander or promote a member to that position.
